ESSENTIAL OILS AND HERBS

It takes 8,000 rose flowers to produce just one 5 mL bottle of doTerra's pure rose oil. This is the equivalent to 42 pounds of rose petals.*
Because pure essential oils are so highly concentrated, they are 50 to 70 times more therapeutically potent than the herbs or plants they are derived from. Dried herbs lose up to 90% of their healing nutrients and oxygen molecules, whereas essential oils do not.**

Just one drop of doTerra's pure, therapeutic peppermint oil equals about 28 cups of peppermint tea!***

Once a fresh plant is dried, very little of the essential oil is still left. It’s the same with herbs. Once an herb is dried, it only contains 3 – 5% of its essential oil, and it’s the Essential Oil that gets us well. The process of drying the herb causes many molecules found in the essential oil of the plant to be lost altogether. This is why pure Essential Oils are more potent than herbs. Does this mean that you should never use herbs? Absolutely not! Herbs have many uses.**
