My top tips on using EOs for your family.
(1) Do not
consume in a plastic glass of water. Some EO’s will detox your body, and you
don’t want them to detox the plastic.
(2) If you get them in your eye, dilute
the area immediately with vegetable (olive, coconut, etc.). Place the vegetable oil on a tissue and gently wipe the eye area. Repeat as
necessary. Then you can flush with saline as needed.
(3) Do not overuse
internally! In most cases, just one drop is enough to use. A high-quality therapeutic
EO is potent!
(4) Not all EO’s can be consumed. Some are only for diffusion or
topical use. Read label.
(5) EO’s are beneficial for animals, but only certain
oils can be used. Amazon has books about which oils can be used on your pets.
(6)
Be sure to buy a superior quality of Essential Oil that tests for purity.
Essential Oils cross the cell membrane and you want to be sure of their purity.
I advise to never consume EO’s from a drug store or health food store. They are
usually perfume only. If they can be consumed, they are not necessarily superior
quality. EO’s reach every cell in your body in just a few minutes. 80% of EO’s
are accidentally contaminated. DoTerra’s EO’s are therapeutic grade and test
completely pure.
(7) If you are on prescription medications, talk to your
doctor about the oils you are using. For example, Ginger can help your glucose
level. So if you are on diabetes medication to lower your blood sugar level,
and take Ginger EO, your sugar may go too low.
(8) When using topically, use a 'carrier oil' for sensitivity, such as fractionated coconut oil, or jojoba oil, olive oil, sesame oil, avocado oil.
